The Letter to the Philippians
The Letter to the Philippians is known as the letter of joy and was written by Paul while he was suffering in prison for the sake of the Gospel. It features a beautiful hymn to the humility of Christ who emptied Himself and took the form of a servant for our salvation. We see the importance of having the same mind as the Lord and of seeking the progress of others above our own interests. This book teaches us that true peace and contentment are found in our relationship with Jesus regardless of our outward situation.
The text emphasizes the value of a life that is focused on the pursuit of holiness and the prize of the heavenly calling. We are encouraged to rejoice in the Lord always and to bring our requests to Him with a spirit of thanksgiving. Paul shares his own conviction that he can do all things through the One who gives him strength and purpose. The Letter to the Philippians invites us to think about whatever is true and noble and lovely so that the God of peace may be with us always.
